Tour - Ready Room
Summary
Doubling as an office and a second private cabin in addition to the Commanding Officer’s private quarters, the ready room is a place where the captain can work or rest while remaining next to the bridge in case of an emergency. It is an ideal space for the captain to review status reports, hold one-on-one or small meetings with members of the senior staff, and receive private communications.

Description | The ready room aboard the Vesta is located off the starboard side of the main bridge on deck five. Upon entering the room from the bridge, one immediately finds themselves standing in front of the captain’s desk with two chairs for accommodating visitors. This desk is equipped with an advanced LCARS terminal and holographic imaging system which enables access to the ship’s main computer. Three medium-sized viewports are evenly spaced along the bulkhead behind the desk. To the left of the desk toward the front of the ship is a wall upon which are several shelves and mountings displaying personal effects belonging to the Vesta’s commanding officer. There are also several drawers below this space for additional storage if need be. A small seating area including a couch, a couple of chairs, and a side table takes up much of the space on this end of the room. Opposite this seating area toward the rear of the ship is a small conference table with seating for up to six individuals. Here, the commanding officer can hold informal gatherings or meetings with small groups without having to utilize the full conference room. The aft wall of the room contains a display screen capable of supporting presentations along with a replicator terminal. In the far corner is a doorway which leads into a bathroom containing a sonic shower. Below a mirror is a sink with no visible controls. Water comes on automatically when hands are placed beneath the faucet and turns off when they are withdrawn. The ready room is typically decorated per the captain’s preference including books, models, artwork, and other such aesthetic items. |
