Summary

The term quarters refers to accommodations on board spacecraft and space stations. Quarters can be found all over mobile and stationary facilities, varying in size and detail. An individual room was called a cabin. Usually, the accommodations of the ship's commanding officer and executive officer are slightly larger than the standard officers' quarters.

Description There are several different kinds of accommodations available to passengers and crew aboard Vesta-class starships:

Enlisted Crew Quarters: Enlisted crewmembers share quarters with at least three other crewmembers. These accommodations typically include a small common area with access to two shared bedrooms and a communal bathroom (with wash basins, mirrors, sonic showers, and storage). Each bedroom contains two beds and storage for personal belongings. In addition, the common area includes variable furniture for relaxing, dining, and workspace.

NCO & Junior Officers’ Quarters: Non-commissioned officers, attached civilian personnel, and commissioned officers (ranked Ensign) are assigned with at least one other crewmember. These accommodations typically include a small common area with access to two individual bedrooms and a half-bathroom (with wash basin, mirror, several drawers, and a sonic shower). Each bedroom contains a bed, small workspace, and storage for personal belongings.

Officers’ Quarters: Commissioned Starfleet officers (ranked Lieutenant JG or above) are granted individual quarters. These accommodations typically include a two-bay living area, a separate bedroom, and half-bathroom (with wash basin, mirror, several drawers, and a sonic shower). The living area contains a replicator terminal and is customizable with a variety of furniture and decorations.

Note: Accommodations of this type are also granted to non-diplomatic guests (Starfleet and civilian) traveling aboard ship based on cabin availability.

Executive Quarters: Executive quarters are designed to give both the commanding officer and executive officer added comfort and privacy to perform their duties. The accommodations include a three-bay living area, a study area, a separate bedroom, and a full-sized bathroom. The living area contains a replicator terminal and is customizable with a variety of furniture and decorations. The study offers a workspace with computer access.

VIP & Guest Quarters: Diplomatic guest quarters are the same as executive quarters, but feature private communications terminals for secure conferencing and an additional living area(s) for diplomatic aides. Like the executive quarters, they include as standard a three-bay living area, a study area, a separate bedroom, and a full-sized bathroom. The living area contains a replicator terminal and is customizable with a variety of furniture and decorations. Note: Cabins designated for this purpose are capable of being converted to class H, K, L, N, and N2 environments as required.
