Character Promotion Policy

Created by Captain Aviram Drell on Mon Aug 5th, 2019 @ 3:29pm

Policy

Promotions for all playing and non-playing characters shall be determined by the command staff in consultation with the player to whom the character(s) belong.

Character development, as opposed to time served with the simulation, will be the primary factor when determining character rank.

Restrictions

Commanding officer characters shall not exceed the rank of captain without approval from the Pegasus Fleet admiralty.

Executive officer characters shall not exceed one rank below that of the commanding officer.

Department head characters shall not exceed the rank of the executive officer.

Characters serving within various departments shall not exceed the rank of their respective department head.

Cadet ranks should be used very sparingly. Any cadet with a rank below that of junior (3-pip) must have a strong reason for their presence aboard the ship as most cadets do not participate in their first field training assignment until the third year.

Warrant officer ranks (especially the higher grades) should be used sparingly. These officers will be rare aboard ship and will be highly experienced individuals who rose from the non-commissioned officer (NCO) ratings.

Provisional ranks (as seen on Star Trek: Voyager) should be used very sparingly. They are intended for when a field commission is granted to an individual by the ship’s commanding officer where it cannot or has not been confirmed by Starfleet.

Follow-Up

Questions, comments, and concerns are always welcomed and should be directed to a member of the command staff via private message or email.

Modification and enforcement of this policy is at the discretion of the commanding officer.
