Mission:
Episode 04: "Tempest"
Location: Main Sickbay
Timeline: Day 1 at 0000
Between the warmed blankets surrounding her, the heated biobed beneath her, the increased ambient temperature in sickbay and the mug of steaming hot chocolate in her hands, Temperance was finally starting to feel like the cold was leeching out of her body, something she had been entirely unsure would ever happen. There was actually moments on the surface where she was starting to think that they would freeze to death before the storm ended and Captain Drell would have to launch a retrieval mission for their bodies.
She sighed softly as Harlow, the young purple haired doctor removed one of the blankets and replaced it with a fresh, warm one, offering a slight smile. "Thank you," she murmured softly before taking another sip of the hot chocolate. "I still have no idea how Captain Drell managed to convince the Tholians to leave peacefully, but I for one am glad he did," she said quietly, a quick shiver running through her at the sudden change in body temperature.
"Does it even matter though?" Zerin asked coming around the corner. He glanced at his cave compatriots as he checked something on a console, before going over to a blanket warmer to stick his hands inside. "Street cred for sure though, man though," he paused for a moment, "This chill just won't go away."
At the word 'chill' Temperance shivered again before she set the mug of hot chocolate down. "Can we turn the environmentals up?" she asked hopefully. "Make it warmer?" She picked up a PaDD and thumbed into it before tightening a blanket around her shoulders more, scanning the data the PaDD contained. "It looks like we've been recalled to Cestus," she murmured. "Curious, we've been told to report to Fleet Headquarters."
"Negotiating with the Tholians means one of two things: They ain't all jerks, or Drell knows what they want. Either way, I'm glad to be off Planet Floodplain." Cordale chuckled into his coffee. "I think even my prosthetic was shaking near the last few minutes." he cradled the mug close to his body, close to his core. Transferring some of the warmth to his most vitals. "Okay, so I know *why* we can't recuperate in a holodeck sauna, but why can't we recuperate in a holodeck sauna?" He knew why. It'd dehydrate them quickly if they weren't careful.
"Environmentals are already up sadly," Zerin replied, pulling himself away from the blanket warmer and closing the door to it. "I agree it doesn't feel it though." He walked over to the other two and sat down with them, wrapping himself in a blanket again. "I don't get how this chill is still with us. Anymore information about why we are going to Fleet HQ?"
"I don't know," Temperance bit her bottom lip as she scanned the data. "But what ever it is, it doesn't look good. There's been a couple of Captain's recalled, and Admiralty is on their way to Cestus for 'important meetings'," she used air quotes, the blanket falling from her shoulders, leaving her to shiver for a moment as she pulled it back up and tightened around her. "I can't imagine Captain Drell doing something wrong, especially not serious enough to warrant being hauled in front of Admiralty."
"I suppose we'll find out about what happened soon enough. Wild speculation don't sit well with me, mostly cause I don't like looking like a fool when a theory I put a lot of thought and time into gets shot down because it was Romulans or time travel. Or time travelling Romulans." Cordale considered. "So, all that's left is for us to do the best damn job we can with what we've got. That, and if this is as warm as the environmentals can get me, I'm going to the holodeck and starting a fire." he snickered. "A big one. Who's in?" a pause, "I mean ... who wants to join me, not who.. you know, wants to go in the fire. Though at this rate..."
"Fire sounds good," Temperance said with a wan smile. "Zerin, want to join us?"
"I'll bring the s'mores," He replied, and after a pause, "And alcohol. No bonfire is complete without."
